To arrive to this conclusion, the iVerify Network of Fact-Checking Desks has conducted the following process. We performed a reverse image search on the image and discovered that it was taken on May 7, 2022 during the Kipchoge Keino Classic in Kasarani and was shared on Instagram by CS Mohamed’s daughter Firyal.

We also contacted Athletics Kenya to confirm if Firyal’s name was on the list of those who went to Oregon at the expense of deserving athletes, and the federation indicated that they went above and beyond to ensure that only deserving officials were included in the travel list, confirming that she did not travel with the team as claimed.
