Even before the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced the official results, National Assembly Majority Leader Amos Kimunya accepted defeat on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Kimunya stated that he respects the will of the people of Kipipiri, despite the fact that their decision was not what he expected.
The politician also congratulated his opponent, UDA candidate and former Nyandarua Woman Representative Wanjiku Muhia, on her victory and thanked the people of Kipipiri for entrusting him with power. He observed that the will of the people prevails in a democracy.
