No, ODM leader Raila Odinga has not postponed the March 20th demonstrations

False

The video circulated online of Raila Odinga canceling the planned Monday protests is an old one and has nothing to do with the March 20, 2023 mass action.

Instead, the video in the tweet was captured in Tana River county, and it refers to a parallel Jamhuri day rally planned for December 2022, which Odinga announced to his followers had been canceled due to his participation at the USA-Africa Summit.

Rating Justification

The iVerify Network of Fact-Checking Desks has fact-checked this content and
established that it is False.

To arrive to this conclusion, the iVerify Network of Fact-Checking Desks has conducted the following process. We conducted a reverse image search and discovered that the video was shared on Kenya Digital News’ YouTube channel on December 9, 2022 at minute 26:24 and is an excerpt from part of ODM leader Raila Odinga’s speech in Tana River County before he left for the USA-Africa summit, resulting in his absence from the planned parallel Jamhuri Day rally on Monday, December 12, 2022 and thus postponing the protests.

We also discovered a tweet by Raila confirming to his supporters on March 20, 2023 that he is on his way to lead the anti-government demonstration.
