No, the video shows a fire at an Italian resort in Kilifi, not retired president Uhuru Kenyatta’s hotel.

False

The video showing a burning building is of the Barracuda Inn, an Italian resort in Watamu Kenya, which is part of Kilifi County and was destroyed in February 2023.

Several tourists were also injured while attempting to flee the fire, which began at Mbuyu lodge (formerly Mawimbi resort) before spreading to Barracuda resort and another nearby hotel.

The video quickly became an internet sensation after unknown people invaded the Kenyatta-owned Northlands City farm on March 27, 2023, destroyed property, and stole livestock. ODM leader Raila Odinga’s East Africa Spectre Limited on Road C in Nairobi’s industrial area was also vandalized by unknown individuals.
